| On the shinkansen |
I love Tokyo but I’ve also come to the point where I don’t know how to spend an extra 3 hours there… so I went to Bookoff and actually found the Malice Mizer Blanche photobook for 2500yen! And i didn’t buy it because I couldn’t imagine having to run to Shinkansen with a 2kg book in my bag (at some point age precedes band obsession).
Közi and Hora has announced during the week that they would pay new songs(emphasis on the s) so we were hyped about that. Since they don’t have a lot of songs the set list is pretty much always the same, BUT tonight they didn’t do the noise thing and Hora didn’t get a solo session which I think they could’ve squeezed in since the gig only lasted about 90 minutes from curtain rise to fall.
They also had new ”outfits”, regular, grey suits! The minute Hora came out on stage I couldn’t help but to think ” so this is what he’d look like if he worked corporate”. I also noticed Közi had a super normal belt in his pants, the kind of belt you’d use in cargo pants or jeansxD did he just grab the first thing he could get his hands on or does he just not wear suits ever? (Is the Mayohk suits a lie? Does he never wear other suits? Lol)
They started with Sexy music and ended with it as well (I thought they did it twice in the past because of lack of songs, is this a thing now?).
The new songs, two were more up beat (スペキュら and マドロミスランバー)and one slower (BLOOM), the beat in スペキュら made me think of Eurythmics Sweet dreams. マドロミスランバー incorporated Hora’s solo song L.E.M I want to say (I also think the beat in L.E.M can be heard in the beginning of セスぃボン, or a remake of it XD)
I like all their unreleased songs, but especially MODO and ウドゥラドゥラポォフト. I was hopeful they’d announce a release single or something but nothing. Also, for the millions time, I love Donuts and I feel like it so underrated.
As for future events, they announced another bar event on December 27th but no oneman. They also talked about their world tour in November; apparently it was first suggested they do 15 countries but Közi didn’t want to because it’s too much (he said he feels tired just going to Osaka, going to many different countries is worse. Hora agreed but it was implied it was Közi who said no and he said saying something along the lines of that Hora it’s just pressing buttons, he’s the one who’s singing (so he gets more tired). It was said light hearted, he didn’t seriously mean Hora didn’t do anything in case that needed clarification.
Közi tried to encourage Hora to speak more during the gig but he mostly said he doesn’t have anything to say but Közi is so entertaining it’s alright I guess (and Hora talks more at the Schwarz Stein gigs anyway). When Közi walked off stage he first went over to Hora’s ”button board” and started touching it, Dj playing kind of XD
I kind of wished they’d announce a release for the new songs or maybe a group gig (taiban) in Osaka but instead Közi just said something like we’ll continue as long as we can or something like that, I don’t remember the exact wording but it was once again implied that they aren’t doing this hard core, it’s a side thing so the gigs and probably releases are something that they’ll do sporadically.

Personally, I'm considering going back to Sweden next year so it makes me sad to know my Mayohk (and Schwarz Stein gigs) are numbered. I really hope I'll get to see them play one last time if I end up leaving.
