Band Focus - JILUKA

In my second "Band Focus" I want to introduce the sort of new Visual Kei band JILUKA.

JILUKA began their activities in 2013. In may the same year they released their debutsingle Sicks, but their current drummer, JaiL decided to leave the band so JILUKA went on hiatus.

JILUKA with JaiL.

They made a comeback in january 2015 with Zyean on drums and released their single Screamer.
During spring they released their debut minialbum Brave Agonistic Letters Under Segregationand just after a couple of months they'll release a second minialbum, DESTRIEB on the 5th of August.

I used to be very anti neo visual kei-bands. I mean my favorite bands and obsessions in life is Velvet Eden, Schwarz Stein and Malice Mizer, I used to think all the new bands was just young pretty boys without that much talent (to some extent I still think so),but then I come across some really good bands, like JILUKA.

Their sound mixes metal with regular poprock you can hear among lots of visual kei-bands today, but I think they sound far more special than most bands. Ricko's normal singing voice is very clear, and he shouts a lot which I like. The music is mixed but they have some darker, heavier songs with lots of bass, like their leadtrack on DESTRIEB, Twisted Pain.

They also promised some heavier sounds like Twisted Pain on their new minialbum, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Since they're sort of new there's not much background history but I hope many will check them out and give them a try, they're worth it.
